1959 Edsel Ranger - Auction - Concord, NC -

1959 Edsel Ranger 2-Door-  This was the first Edsel delivered to Eck Ford in Wichita, Kansas in October of 1958. Owner Rusty Eck was enamored with it and decided to keep it, driving it for 10 years, and then storing it for 27 years.  In 1966, it was sold, and the new owner reportedly rebuilt the engine and transmission.  It was traded back to Eck Ford in the late 90's with 38K miles, and they reportedly had it refinished in their body shop in the original colors of Desert Tan over President Red. After gorgeous paint, it was sent to the showroom of the Ford dealership. Edsel Ford, II was on a promotional tour for the Mustang around 2002, and had his photo taken with the Eck Ford owner, his sons, and the sales manager.  Mr. Ford also autographed the Kansas title and the inside of the glove box.  These photos go with the purchase of this special Edsel.  When the elder Mr. Eck passed away, his sons sold the Edsel, and it has been in collectors' hands in Florida since.  It has been in numerous shows and presented in at least one magazine.

The car is equipped with the "Thrifty 6", and standard 3-Speed transmission.  Working Air Conditioning has been added, and it has 5 new wide whitewall radial tires.  The paint, chrome, and interior are stunning.  Car runs and drives well, and is ready for show, tours, or just cruising.
